Secret Numbers on Cell Phone Bill?

Well I happen to check my boyfriends cell phone bill and under the details of his data/text, it shows where he is sending and receiving text, but the actual Phone Number does not appear. Instead there are just random numbers. Like on one its a SENT text and under the TO/FROM category, it has 62582. Now its obvious that this isn’t an actual number, but it looks like the numbers have been hiden. There are quite a few text SENT and RECEIVED with random numbers like this. What does this mean? And how do I find out exactly what number is being hidden?

It’s not a hidden number, it a ‘Short’ number such as used by various companies, for example radio statios etc. It makes them easier to remember when given out over the radio for quizzes etc.

Instead of ‘Phone us on 01867 214872′ they can say ’62582.
